We took immense pleasure in having a wonderful story telling workshop with Kusumika Chatterjee yet again early this year.
Kusumika Chatterjee’s sessions with our volunteers have been an inspiring guide and has helped our volunteers hone their story telling techniques. She has demonstrated the power of simple hand gestures and facial gesticulation. Some of our volunteers took cue from the deft story-teller and practiced the techniques that she kindly shared with us. She has opened up streams of possibilities by introducing the use of simple and easy-to-make props. Further she performed popular Latin American and classic Indian stories, demonstrating the power of indigenous stories. On two days, Mrs. Chatterjee visited two of our centers and performed for the children of the centre. It was an enthralling experience for the children and the volunteers, who saw her in ‘action’.
