PeaceWorks<\/span>. Yes. Certainly more than, say, war, conflict, violence, destruction. Think about it. See the world around you. On your TV and your laptop and your mobile. The more the news hits you, the more numb and disinterested you get. After all, you say, how much can you take?<\/p>\n

At Seagull, we decided to do something about it. We chose the arts as our \u2018tool\u2019 of communication. The core idea being: hey, we need to live with difference and allow it the same space to breathe that we, us, ourselves demand. That\u2019s it.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Seagull Foundation for the Arts works with young persons using drama and film and art, and dance and music and literature; holds workshops and events and festivals and creative writing sessions; exhibits photographs, and films and art and books; we debate and we discuss; we invite people from different parts of the country and the world to engage with young folks in Calcutta and elsewhere on the question of making peace work.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
