The state provides primary education but it takes so much more to create responsible, evolved citizens. PeaceWorks\u2019 storytelling project Share Stories Open Minds is a timely intervention that uses one of humanity\u2019s oldest art forms to educate, inspire and motivate these children.<\/p>\n<p class=\"m_-7751755576585929495ydp748451dbyiv5916881767MsoNormal\" style=\"color: #26282a;\">Since inception in 2010, Share Stories Open Minds has reached out to over 2000 children in\u00a0<i>Nabadisha<\/i>\u00a0schools run by the Kolkata police within police station premises and in\u00a0<i>Sarva Shiksha Abhyan<\/i>\u00a0schools run by the Central Government.<\/p>\n<p class=\"m_-7751755576585929495ydp748451dbyiv5916881767MsoNormal\" style=\"color: #26282a;\">Typically, students in these schools come from the most marginalized sections of society.<\/p>\n<p class=\"m_-7751755576585929495ydp748451dbyiv5916881767MsoNormal\" style=\"color: #26282a;\">PeaceWorks volunteers\u2014homemaker, teacher, student, senior citizen, journalist, naval architect, illustrator\u2014profiles of just some of the people who have come forward to commit their time and dedication to the project\u2014are assigned centres where they conduct storytelling sessions once a week for a duration of one hour.
