Ann Murphy is a well-known dance critic writing for the New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle and the San Francisco Bay Area News Group. Her essays about dance at the margins, both geographically and culturally, appear in various anthology collections. She is assistant professor and chair of the Mills College Dance Department.
